Students in McKelvey Engineering's Dual Degree Program graduate in just six years with three degrees: a bachelor's degree from their home institution, and bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering from WashU.

This unique liberal arts approach to engineering education gives graduates strong communication and problem-solving skills, a broad background in the humanities and social sciences and a high-quality technical education.

The program is aimed at students who want to pursue an undergrad program not available at their home institution, plus a bachelor's and master's degree from one of the best engineering schools in the United States. WashU offers a 50% discount on tuition for all domestic and international students.

Research, design projects & career opportunities

Students are encouraged to pursue independent research projects, internships, cooperative education, international experiences or graduate study. The WashU Center for Career Engagement's ultimate goal is for students to graduate with job placement, acceptance into graduate or professional school, or commitment to a short-term program.

Housing

Typically, Dual Degree students live in either the Dual Degree apartments (located in the University City Loop), other WashU-owned apartments, or in other apartment buildings in nearby residential neighborhoods. Most students walk, bike, or take free WashU shuttles to and from campus.
